• THE HOMEFRONT

Contrary to popular belief, I do have a life. More particularly, I have a wife. And we have three kids. It would be a mistake to believe that work, writing, and markets are my whole life, because I love my wife and kids more than anything, and I see all of this as one integrated journey of joy.

Joleen and I have been married for over 22 years. We were introduced by a friend in early 2000, were engaged March 2001, and married in September of that year. Our honeymoon kicked off with the 9/11 attacks as we flew to Tahiti. She is my best friend and partner for life.

Our oldest son, Mitchell, is a freshman at Westmont College. He has been gainfully employed since he was about 14. Our daughter, Sadie, is a sophomore and is not a morning person. Our baby boy, Graham, is 13 now, so not a baby, and he is chatty.

We bounce around to various houses and locations and live an adventurous life. We get each other, love each other, and don’t ever plan to lose our “us against the world” persona. It has worked for us so far.

David is passionate about the integration of faith and economics and has lectured and written for years about a theology of wealth and the marketplace. He responds to the term “Kuyperian,” is bored to tears with most theological debates these days, and believes wealth advisory work is his calling, not his job.

His late father, Dr. Greg Bahnsen, was a renowned Christian apologist and is David’s personal hero and mentor.
